Small Towable RV Trailors
6 Best Small Towable Rv trailers. Big fun in a small package
Bumpy Roads RV, May 2023
We recently went to the Tampa Super RV show to check out the new rigs. While the number of trailers displayed at the show was substantially up from the last couple of covid years, we came away with two key impressions.
- The cleverness of design keeps impressing us. Manufacturers have given a great deal of thought to pack numerous features and functions into these little trailers in very clever and innovative ways.
- The price of RVs in general and especially little trailers have gone up exponentially. A small towable that was only 15-20K two years ago can now run you upwards of 40K. Small trailers are not the bargain they used to be, but there are still some ones that have clever enough features that may make you buy one even at inflated prices.
When it comes to small towable RV trailers, there are several popular options known for their quality and features. Keep in mind that the “best” trailer for you depends on your specific needs and preferences. Here are some highly regarded small towable RV trailers:

Remember to consider factors such as weight, size, layout, features, and your specific requirements when choosing the best small towable RV trailer for you. Additionally, reading reviews, visiting dealerships, and exploring various brands and models will help you make an informed decision.
We have put an * beside all the ratings of these trailers. The number of customers involved in these ratings varies greatly and we are not sure if any of the ratings organizations have involvement with the manufacturers. We have had 20 years plus of RV experience with all kinds of RVs. Please keep in mind the following caveats
- All Rv’s are poorly constructed although you will find an occasional good one
- It will take you an average of 2 years to iron out all the flaws you uncover.
- Today it is hard to get repair parts even though you have a warranty, dealers who did not sell you the RV can and often do refuse to work on it, and you may have to wait weeks even months to get a service appointment.
Having said the above, some trips almost make the poor quality and service in the industry worth it. And always look for good used models where conscientious owners have already ironed out the bugs.
Make sure the trailer is not divorce size. Our current RV is a used 28-foot Thor Axis. It is exactly one foot longer than divorce. Living with someone in a small space for too much time does not make the heart grow fonder.
